Based on a variety of Russian fairy tales and using the famous Russian witch Baba Yaga and her traveling hut, this play follows a family of Russian immigrants who wander into the witch’s forest - now in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
“Wood's story is traditional yet innovatively told, and winningly rooted in New York City problems. For example, the Circe-like witch transforms people into the animals they most resemble, so a real estate broker (Ned Massey) becomes a ravenous bear—and continues, in this predicament, to try to tout his hottest Manhattan properties.”

“Baba Yaga proves what many children probably suspect: when it comes to power, a wtich’s wiles are no match for Mom’s.”
